Course Introduction
This course is tailor made to allow progression for the experienced and enthusiastic Beauty Therapist, enabling you to work confidently with electrical equipment. The objectives of these units are to improve body & facial conditions by using electro-therapy.
The main outcomes of these units are to prepare for the face or body treatment, consult and plan the treatment with the client, perform electro-therapy treatments, complete the treatment using a variety of equipment you will learn to master application of direct and indirect high frequency, galvanic, faradic, microcurrent, gyratory massager, and vacuum suction to a very high standard which will help you to develop into becoming an excellent therapist. Training is intense and full commitment to home practice is essential.

On successful completion of the course you will be awarded with a qualification that is recognised in industry and will enable you to gain insurance that is necessary in today’s industry.

Each unit can be taken individually if required

Duration
Six days - 10.00am-4.00pm (three days for body work & three days for facial work 6 in total for both)
Plus Assessment session – 1 day body & 1 day face 

Cost
Training - £410 per unit (3 days plus assessment day-for 1 unit),
£820(6 days if both units taken with 2 assessment days)
plus £60 for additional assessment sessions if required
Kit – access to electrical equipment will be required for practice and case study work, academy can advise

VTCT Lifetime registration fee (if required) - £13 (£14 from August 2007)

Scheme of Work
Day 1 Body – Galvanic, Direct high frequency.
Face – Galvanic desincrustation & iontophoresis Direct high frequency

•   Input on related theory
•   Outline case study criteria
•   Practical demonstration of equipment application
•   Student practical performance (a client will be required)

Day 2 Body – Vacuum & Faradic.
Face – indirect high frequency& vacuum

•   Input on related theory
•   Recap of case study criteria
•   Practical demonstration of equipment application
•   Student practical performance (a client will be required)

Day 3 Body – Gyratory massager & Microcurrent.
Face-faradic & Microcurrent

•   Input on related theory
•   Revision for independent exams
•   Practical demonstration of equipment application
•   Student practical performance (a client will be required)
A six week gap between day three and assessment sessions will be given to allow for completion of work required and preparation for practical assessments.

Assessment Sessions for BT18 & BT19 (as and when required) you will need to cover:
•   Written assessment for each unit which you need to achieve 70% and then oral questioning is allowed
to achieve the required 100%
•   Practical assessment – of at least two pieces of equipment linked together for both face and body units

You will need to complete case study treatments on five different clients on at least five separate occasions to cover four out of the five facial types of equipment listed and five out of the six types of body equipment listed .You will need to consider body types/skin types of clients and objectives.

Training and assessing in the workplace can be accommodated but travelling expenses will be added to the course fees
