Course Introduction
Facials are one of the most popular salon treatments, many clients are now extremely conscious of looking after their skin to maintain a healthy & glowing, young looking appearance.

This course will allow you to become a fully qualified Facial Massage Therapist in providing a skin analysis, treating a variety of skin conditions and performing a relaxing facial massage, as well as being able to advise on homecare products.

This course is an excellent therapy to begin your Beauty Therapy career or to continue with your other skills.
On successful completion of the course you will be awarded with a qualification that is recognised in industry
and will enable you to gain insurance.

• Contra-indications & contra-actions to treatment
• Client consultation and treatment planning
• Aftercare advice
• Health, safety & hygiene
• Practical demonstration to include – skin analysis, skin cleansing, toning, exfoliation & moisturising, application of masks, skin warming devices, methods of extraction and massage techniques to the face, neck shoulders & décollaté

Duration
Two days – 10.00-3.00 plus Assessment Day – 10.00am-1.00pm

Training - £270 (includes use of products), kits can be purchased for case study use

Scheme of Work

Day 1

• Input on related theory
• Outline case study criteria
• Demonstration of skin analysis,cleanse, tone, exfoliation, massage, mask & moisturise
 • Student practical performance on each other

Day 2
• Continue input on related theory
• Demonstration of paraffin wax mask and extraction
• Student practical performance on each other

A four week gap between day two and day three will be given to allow for
completion of case studies and revision for written assessment.

Day 3
• Assessment Day
• Completion of a written test on the theory delivered
• Submission of case studies
 • Performance of 1 facial practical assessment using a skin warming device, a suitable exfoliation
product and performing extraction, you will need to provide a client.
• Exam paper for VR02/VR74 if required and submission of VR02/VR74 task book if required
