VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Nail Art
Course Introduction
This course is designed to allow for progression of the manicurist or the nail technician, enabling you to work confidently with a variety of techniques. You will master the art of applying rhinestones, foils, striping tape, glitter dust, flatstones, jewellery, transfers, marbling, opalescent blending and hand painting.

On successful completion of the course you will be awarded with a qualification that is recognised in industry and will enable you to gain insurance.

Recognised manicure qualification plus D1120 Level 3 Diploma in Health, Safety, Security and Employment Standards

Scheme of Work
Day 1
  • Input on related theory
  • Advise on completion of VR02/VR74 units if required
  • Outline case study criteria
  • Practical demonstration of a range of techniques
  • Student practical performance
Day 2
  • Practical demonstration of a natural nail overlay
  • Student practical performance
  • Overview of free form sculpting techniques & safe removal of product
  • Practical demonstration of free form application
  • Student practical performance
A six week gap between day two and day three will be given to allow for continued practice, completion of VR02/VR74 task book, completion of written questions and to produce an aftercare leaflet.

Day 3
  • Input on theory for maintenance
  • Practical demonstration of an infill and a rebalance
  • Student practical performance of required maintenance treatment (x l nail to be removed & replaced)
  • Formative practical assessment for natural nail wrapping

(You need 2 clients for today, morning session client required for a maintenance treatment, afternoon session client required for a natural nail wrap)
A two week gap between day three and day 4 (assessment day) will be given to allow for completion of work required and preparation for practical assessments.

  • Submission of written questions and case studies
  • VR02/VR74 exam if required
  • Submission of VR02/VR74 written task book if required
  • Practical assessment - full set with tips
  • Practical assessment - maintenance treatment
  • (You will need to provide 2 clients)
