Course Introduction
This course is tailor made to allow progression for the experienced and enthusiastic
Beauty Therapist, enabling you to work confidently with all facial electrotherapy
equipment which will include high frequency, faradic, galvanic, vacuum, micro current
and micro dermabrasion. This course covers the skills involved in providing a thorough
consultation with the client to formulate a specific treatment plan and to ensure
a dramatic improvement to the clients skin is made. Training is intense and full
commitment to home practice is essential.
On successful completion of the course VTCT will issue your certification

Kit access to electrical equipment will be required for practice and case study work, academy can advise
This is a flexible course and will be designed to suit the needs of the salon and therapist.
Training and assessing in the workplace can be accommodated but travelling expenses will be added to the course fees.
Course Content
Day 1 -
Galvanic desincrustation & iontopherisis Direct high frequency
- Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon
- Equipment and product knowledge
- Client care and communication in beauty related industries
- Dermatology and microbiology
- Treatment planning
- Aftercare and treatment advice
- Demonstration and practical performance of application of facial
electrotherapy treatments
Day 2
Indirect high frequency& vacuum
- Input on related theory
- Recap of case study criteria
- Practical demonstration of equipment application
- Student practical performance (a client will be required)
Day 3
Faradic & Microcurrent
- Input on related theory
- Revision for independent exams
- Practical demonstration of equipment application
- Student practical performance (a client will be required)
A six week gap between day three and assessment sessions will be given to allow
for completion of work required and preparation for practical assessments.
Day 3 Assessment Day
- Written assessment for each unit which you need to achieve 70%
- Practical assessment of at least two pieces of equipment linked together
You will need to complete case study treatments on five different clients on at
least five separate occasions to cover four out of the five facial types of equipment
listed.You will need to consider skin types of clients and objectives.
