IHBC Level 2 Certificate in Nail Technology

Introduction

This foundation course is designed to allow for progression of the manicurist or enhance the skills of the existing nail technician, enabling you to work confidently with a liquid and powder system.

Using the renowned Creative products you will learn to master application of liquid and powder to a very high standard which will help you to develop into becoming an excellent nail technician.

Training is intense and full commitment to home practice is essential.
On successful completion of the course you will be awarded with a qualification that is recognised in industry and will enable you to gain insurance.

Entrance Requirements
Recognised manicure qualification plus Level 3 Diploma in Health, Safety, Security and Employment Standards

Three days - 10.00am-4.00pm Plus Assessment Day - 10.00am-4.00pm

Training - £410 plus kit - £165 to cover creative kit and nail trainer-this can be purchased at the academy

Scheme of Work

Day 1
• Input on related theory
• Advise on completion of VR02/VR74 units if required
• Outline case study criteria
• Practical demonstration of tip & product application
• Student practical performance

Day 2
• Practical demonstration of a natural nail overlay
• Student practical performance
• Overview of free form sculpting techniques & safe removal of product
• Practical demonstration of free form application
• Student practical performance

A four week gap between day two and day three will be given to allow for continued practice, revision and completion of VR02/VR74 task book, record card and homecare/aftercare leaflet.

Day 3
• Input on theory for maintenance
• Practical demonstration of an infill and a rebalance
• Student practical performance of required maintenance treatment (x l nail to be removed & replaced)
• Formative practical assessment for natural nail wrapping (You need 2 clients for today, morning session client required for a maintenance treatment, afternoon session client required for a natural nail wrap)

A two week gap between day three and day 4 (assessment day) will be given to allow for completion of work required and preparation for practical assessments.

Day 4 - Assessment Day
• Submission of VR02/VR74 task book if required
• VR02/VR74 exam if required
• Practical assessment - full set with tips using pink & white powder
• Practical assessment - maintenance treatment
